Maintaining its commitment to truth and high quality, McDonald’s Cyprus held an impressive event on Wednesday 18 September 2024 at the Hilton Nicosia, presenting its new platform “The Inside Matters”, which focuses on each element within every McDonald’s favourite meal.
Representatives from all supplier companies, from Cyprus and abroad, were present and took part in a live Q&A about their products. Present also were McDonald’s partners, media representatives, food bloggers and special guests.
IPH Iakovos Photiades Ltd, a leading company in Cyprus’s consumer goods sector was present at the event as McDonald’s supply chain and logistics partner and proudly reflected on its journey since its inception in 1981 and the success of its long-standing partnership with McDonald’s.
The company specializes in the import, repackaging, distribution, and marketing of food products across both retail and foodservice channels, representing amongst others international brands like Valio, Arla, Starbucks, and Evian. A major milestone in 2011 saw the launch of foodhaus, IPH’s own food retail chain, which now boasts nine stores.
“With the third generation of our family now active in the company, we employ around 300 dedicated people, achieve a turnover of €100 million, serve over 2000 outlets, and collaborate with more than 100 international suppliers,” said Christos Photiades, Strategic Development & Retail Operations Director, IPH.
A cornerstone of IPH’s success has been its enduring relationship with McDonald’s. Since 1997, IPH has been McDonald’s exclusive distributor in Cyprus, managing the entire supply chain process from forecasting to on-time sourcing, stock management, warehousing, and delivery. This partnership, deeply rooted in shared values with the Andreou family, has been pivotal in elevating IPH’s operational standards.
IPH’s state-of-the-art Warehouse and Distribution Center in Dhali, which opened in 2021 following a €13 million investment, reflects the company’s dedication to both growth and sustainability. Spanning 8000 square meters and designed with energy efficiency in mind, this facility is equipped with advanced technology and divided into Frozen, Chilled, and Ambient zones, maintaining strict quality control standards for McDonald’s and other partners.
“Our facility has achieved an ‘A’ grade in the last seven consecutive audits, adhering to EU food handling regulations and McDonald’s DQMP criteria,” continued Christos Photiades, Strategic Development & Retail Operations Director. “This achievement symbolizes our commitment to continuous improvement and delivering the highest standards of service.”
As IPH looks to the future, the company remains focused on growth, sustainability, and maintaining the trusted relationships that have driven its success.
“We are deeply grateful for our partnership with McDonald’s,” said Christos Photiades, Strategic Development & Retail Operations Director. “It has been a journey defined by shared growth, learning, and respect. We look forward to continuing this remarkable journey together and achieving new heights.”
